Burnout isn't primarily a volume problem. It's a gap problem: the distance between what's being asked of you and what you actually have left to meet it with. You can be doing what looks, from the outside, like a perfectly reasonable amount, and still be burned out, because the demands never let up long enough for anything to refill.
I've taken the overnight trips, the quiet weekends away, and I always come back feeling like myself again. For a day, maybe two. Then somehow I'm right back where I started. If rest never seems to hold, here's why it might not be about needing more breaks.
